Golden Moon Distillery, based in Golden, Colorado distills and markets premium spirits. Their gin is floral with not-so-subtle hints of wild-crafted mint and juniper berries. Their absinthe and Créme de Violette are fresh, spicy and fanciful. All are unique creations made authentically from the handcrafted methods of a bygone era.
Few brands are truly unique. Moreover, points-of-difference are typically hard to come by. Golden Moon thinks otherwise. To leverage the uniqueness of their spirits, the distillery has opened a speakeasy. That’s right. That dubious establishment where Prohibition era imbibers secretively enjoyed good spirits and good company.
The Distillery’s speakeasy is called Gold Moon Speak (1111 Washington Ave., Golden, CO 80401). A bygone concept or a smart strategy? We think smart. After all, the concept has been proven by wine tasting rooms, brewpubs, Starbucks, etc.
Golden Moon now has the perfect venue to stand out versus the competition and to create brand awareness and trial. Importantly, Golden Moon can create a strong, and potentially lasting emotional connection with its patrons and consumers. Something that is nearly impossible to do when a bottle just sits on a retail shelf. Now, that’s a smart brand.
